Resumo

Este artigo se concentra na análise do sistema de solução de controvérsias relacionadas ao meio marinho, que é regido por regulamentações específicas estabelecidas pela Convenção das Nações Unidas sobre o Direito do Mar (CNUDM). O objetivo principal deste estudo é investigar os mecanismos empregados para resolver litígios ambientais internacionais entre Estados, particularmente aqueles relacionados à proteção do meio marinho. Para atingir essa meta, inicia-se explorando o contexto geral do sistema de solução de controvérsias estabelecido pela CNUDM. Este sistema serve como um quadro abrangente para a resolução de disputas que surgem em relação a questões relacionadas aos mares e oceanos. Em seguida, é realizada uma análise da forma como as disputas concernentes ao meio ambiente marinho são tratadas no cenário internacional. A compreensão desses processos é crucial para o avanço na proteção do meio marinho e para a promoção da cooperação internacional na gestão sustentável dos recursos marinhos. Este artigo contribui para um melhor entendimento das complexidades envolvidas na solução de controvérsias relacionadas ao meio marinho e destaca a importância do cumprimento das regulamentações estabelecidas pela CNUDM para garantir a preservação e o uso sustentável dos ecossistemas marinhos globais.
