Abstract

This material aims to help both high school and elementary school teachers in Science and Biology. It also aims to guide supervisors of schools and continuing education professionals for the insertion of Potentially Significant Teaching Units - UEPS, in pedagogical practice.

The four UEPS presented here address human body systems, more specifically, the digestive system, the reproductive system (male and female) and sexual orientation, and the skeletal muscular system. They are modeled for application in 8th grade classes, in the Science discipline and are part of the product presented to obtain the title of Master in Science and Mathematics Teaching of the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching, at the University of Caxias do Sul-UCS, developed by Professor Ariane Pegoraro Nuncio and supervised by Professor Dr. Gladis Franck da Cunha and with precious contributions from the professors who made up the defense panel of Dr. Neusa Massoni (UFRGS) and Dr. Laurete Zanol Sauer (UCS).
