TESTE DE UM FRAMEWORK PARA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DA OPEN INNOVATION: ESTUDO DE CASO DE UMA EMPRESA DE AUTOMAÇÃO

Para elevar a capacidade de inovação e competitividade, diferentes tipos e tamanhos de empresas têm adotado a estratégia Open Innovation – OI. Entretanto, a literatura demonstra que as empresas ainda enfrentam dificuldades e desafios para colocar em prática essa estratégia, principalmente pela falta de metodologias de implementação. Este artigo tem como objetivo testar empiricamente um framework na implementação de um projeto de OI. Para tanto, realizou-se um estudo de caso com uma empresa de automação agroindustrial, onde foi selecionado no portfólio da empresa um projeto em parceria com uma universidade pública para desenvolver uma nova tecnologia. O projeto foi ajustado ao modelo do framework, seguindo-se as fases e etapas de implementação. A ferramenta apresentou uma nova sistemática de implementação da OI, e permitiu mapear as oportunidades de parcerias e ativos tecnológicos do ambiente externo, bem como ajudou a identificar na empresa os fatores críticos, as carências, competências e habilidades requeridas para implementação. Os resultados do estudo evidenciaram que a cultura de inovação focada no relacionamento externo, a adequação das práticas de OI aos processos e características da empresa, e o aproveitamento dos incentivos legais à inovação, foram elementos cruciais para o êxito do projeto de OI. Igualmente, a pesquisa revelou que uma das dificuldades de avaliação dos projetos de OI é prover instrumentos mais efetivos de acompanhamento e controle do processo de implementação.
