    O Simpósio de Ensino de Ciências e Matemática da Serra Gaúcha (SECIMSEG) tem como objetivo propiciar um espaço de discussão, reflexão, troca de experiência e colaboração contribuindo para a formação continuada de professores da Educação Básica e do Ensino Superior.  ​O XI SECIMSEG ocorreu no dia 19/10/2023, na Universidade de Caxias do Sul, contando com a participação de professores da Educação Básica e do Ensino Superior e acadêmicos dos cursos de licenciatura.

    O SECIMSEG é promovido pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática (PPGECiMa) e pelo programa de extensão Engenheiro do Futuro (ENGFUT) da Universidade de Caxias do Sul (UCS).

    O presente número da revista Scientia cum Industria reúne os artigos relacionados às atividades realizadas no V SIMPÓSIO DE ENSINO DE CIÊNCIAS E MATEMÁTICA DA SERRA GAÚCHA (IV SECIMSEG).

     O V SECIMSEG ocorreu no dia 21 de julho de 2016 na Universidade de Caxias do Sul, em Caxias do Sul, RS, e contou com a presença de mais de uma centena de professores de Ciências e Matemática do Ensino Fundamental e Médio das escolas públicas e privadas da região da Serra Gaúcha. O objetivo do simpósio foi propiciar um espaço de discussão, reflexão, troca de experiência e atualização contribuindo para o aperfeiçoamento da formação continuada de professores da educação básica.

     

    A palestra de abertura do V SECIMSEG abordou alguns aspectos da didática e da formação de professores em Ciências. Os participantes do simpósio também expuseram seus trabalhos na sessão de pôsteres e participaram de oficinas ministradas pelos mestrandos do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática onde foram utilizadas estratégias e métodos de aprendizagem ativa.

     Os artigos deste número descrevem as oficinas oferecidas aos professores e também os resultados dos trabalhos apresentados na sessão de pôsteres.

     

    A comissão organizadora do V SECIMSEG agradece aos editores da revista por disponibilizarem esse importante meio para a divulgação das ações dos professores que buscam o constante aprimoramento da sua prática didático-pedagógica.

    This issue of Scientia cum Industria gathers articles related to the activities carried out at the IV SYMPOSIUM ON TEACHING SCIENCE AND MATH GAÚCHA SERRA (IV SECIMSEG). The IV SECIMSEG occurred on July 22, 2015 at the University of Caxias do Sul in Caxias do Sul, RS, and it was attended by more than a hundred teachers from primary and secondary public and private schools in the Serra Gaucha region. The aim of the symposium was to provide a space for discussion, reflection, exchange of experience and update contributing to the improvement of continuing education of these teachers. The IV SECIMSEG opening lecture addressed the importance of students' questions in investigative activities at school. The symposium participants also exhibited their work in poster session and took part in workshops carried out by students of the Master’s Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching of the University of Caxias do Sul where active learning strategies and methods were used. The articles in this issue describe the workshops offered to the teachers and also the results of the papers presented at the poster session. The organizing committee of the IV SECIMSEG thanks the Scientia cum Industria editors for making available this important dissemination medium for the teachers' actions who seek constant improvement of their didactic and pedagogic practice.

  • 3rd Science and Mathematics Education Symposium
    Vol. 2 No. 2 (2014)

    The last issue of 2014 of the Scientia cum Industria gathers the articles referring to posters presented at the 3rd Science and Mathematics Education Symposium, held on July 22, 2014, at the University of Caxias do Sul.  The Symposium aimed to promote a forum of discussion and updating and also to contribute to continuing education of science and math high school teachers. The Symposium was organized by the Science and Math Graduate Program of University of Caxias do Sul and sponsored by the Engineer of Future project.

     The authors of the articles are science and math teachers and they report their successful experiences on the learning process at formal and nonformal education environments.

     The organizing committee of the Symposium thanks the editors of Scientia cum Industria by allowing the dissemination of work performed  by teachers and thus share with the educational community their experiences in order to improve the pedagogical practice in favor of a quality education.

    The journal "Scientia Cum Industria" is arriving as a vehicle for science dissemination, done with care and dedication, initially prepared at the University of Caxias do Sul, but ready to be taken by the world. At present, with Internet, what is done at home can also be quickly seen by the rest of the world. Therefore care is important as we are judged by peers; and the old craftsman, working at the backyard, has now an international audience. It is a time for more responsibility, not less as might appear at first sight! The journal's name comes from that ideal: "Scientia" is science, "cum" means “with”, and "industry" means care (or ‘zeal”), among other things. The "industry" cognate carries this meaning in some sense, as a synonym for diligence and skill. Here, in the region of Caxias do Sul, there are many industries that grew up from small businesses and, with diligence, ardor and care, became what they are today. We wish a similar fate for this magazine. We hope to accomplish this endeavor with dedication (rem obire cum industria), and we are asking you, reader, to help us realizing this project with your dedication as well. Please, submit any job of yours to the magazine; not smaller jobs, but any work that you find interesting. The journal is open, the world can read it. Let the world judge your work, and write it with this idea in mind, as we intend to judge it with the same care that we consider any work. We hope that, keeping this ideal in mind, we will build a strong and lasting journal.
