Abstract

Violence against women is a phenomenon based on gender inequality that crosses different spaces and contexts, including the university. Thus, the objective of this study was to know how the phenomenon of violence against women is seen within the
phenomenological paradigm, in particular, in the university context, also, to know which phenomenologists are used in this theme. The systematic review method was used following the steps cited by Sampaio and Mancini (2007) and Zerbinati and Bruns (2017), opting for Google Scholar, Scielo and PePsic databases, prioritizing the last five years (2017 to 2022), the Portuguese language and national articles. A shortage of national scientific literature on this topic was identified, as well as Martin Heidegger was the most used phenomenologist on this topic. However, it was concluded that more studies are needed that seek to point out the
incidence of violence against women in the light of phenomenology, especially in the university context, in order to know the presentation of this phenomenon to consciousness through the description of the experience and the meaning attributed by the person, promoting greater understanding and identification of the types of violence against women as a way of coping
