Abstract

This paper aims to examine the figure of the nomadic intellectual as a political and revolutionary agent who experiments with new subjectivities and the creation of new territories, using the common as a creative force. Initially, we explore theorists who regard the intellectual as a problem of modernity, reflecting on their role within power and knowledge structures. Next, we turn to Deleuze and Guattari’s philosophy of difference, in dialogue with authors aligned with this theoretical perspective, to construct what we call the nomadic intellectual. Inspired by Foucault’s ideas about the specific intellectual, this new type of political agent engages in local struggles and power dynamics, operating through a logic of nomadic resistance. Finally, the nomadic force, with its war machine, emerges from the common, through networks formed in political struggles, representing a bet on the possibility of shaking the foundations of the state apparatus, especially at a time when both the intellectual figure and science itself face discredit from reactionary movements. In conclusion, the nomadic intellectual is presented as both a critical and creative figure, offering a new way of thinking about knowledge, power, and politics, revealing themselves as an agent of social transformation.
