No presente artigo, nós exploramos a contribuição seminal de Christine de Pizan ao questionamento da dignidade das mulheres. A escritora é examinada no contexto de A Cidade das Damas e sua participação na Querelle des Femmes. Através da análise textual e contextual, propõe-se que Christine de Pizan desafiou tanto o debate quanto a condenação da feminilidade da Idade Média e iniciou uma discussão que influenciou o pensamento contínuo de teóricas feministas. Este artigo se concentrará na estrutura, argumentos centrais, crítica à tradição misógina, bem como a influência em autoras renascentistas e iluministas, como Marguerite de Navarre, Marie de Gournay, Mary Astell e Mary Wollstonecraft. Finalmente, argumenta-se que Christine de Pizan continua sendo uma das figuras mais relevantes na história das mulheres na filosofia e no surgimento do feminismo moderno.
