Resumo

 Inovação representa uma vantagem competitiva para as empresas, no entanto, o dinamismo do mercado e tecnológico comprometem a manutenção de uma vantagem perdurável. Para contrapor os impactos do dinamismo tecnológico e para melhoria do desempenho da inovação, a Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento (P&D) é um fator importante. A P&D atua como uma importante fonte de conhecimento que pode ser transferido e apoiar rápidos avanços para a inovação. Outro fator importante para o sucesso das inovações é a forma como seu processo é projetado e gerenciado. Assim, tanto o acervo intangível de conhecimento utilizado em suas operações que pode ser conferido principalmente pela P&D, como a capacidade de gestão da inovação e seus processos impactam diretamente na competitividade das empresas. Entretanto, ainda há necessidade de maiores esclarecimentos sobre o relacionamento existente entre os conceitos. Nesse sentido, o artigo apresenta uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a relação existente entre as atividades de pesquisa e desenvolvimento (P&D) e a abordagem sistêmica da gestão da inovação. Para isso, foi utilizada a metodologia Revisão Sistemática da Literatura orientada para o desenvolvimento de artefatos. Como resultado, a pesquisa expõe um framework teórico enfatizando o relacionamento entre a gestão da inovação e a P&D, incluindo os conceitos subjacentes como o processo de inovação e de NDP.
