Este estudo teve o objetivo de avaliar como o uso de TI contribui com a adoção da Inovação Frugal nas organizações brasileiras. Ela tem sido um fator importante de vantagem competitiva em países em desenvolvimento, como Índia e China, os quais apresentam casos expressivos de sucesso de modelos de negócios com esta abordagem, mesmo em seus cenários de limitações e restrições de recursos. Por meio da análise de duas organizações, este estudo de caso múltiplo, permitiu entender como a Inovação Frugal, contribui na competitividade destas organizações brasileiras, visto que o desenvolvimento de inovações no Brasil difere dos países desenvolvidos. O contexto pandêmico, que ocorreu durante a elaboração deste trabalho, aumenta a importância deste estudo, dadas as discussões das organizações e da comunidade científica para encontrar um cenário de reconfiguração de seus modelos e a recuperação econômica necessária após este período complexo em que está vivendo a população mundial.
