Development of a device for measuring and analyzing the magnetic field using magnetoresistive sensor
Keywords:
Measurement of magnetic field, magnetoresistance, electronic instrumentationAbstract
Stages and development is shown in the present work for a magnetic field measuring device, which is intended to be used at Universidade de Caxias do Sul electrical engineering and electronics laboratories – UCS vineyard region – utilizing as element an anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) sensor. The measuring device is built by a 9 V battery, which feeds the sensor; an operational instrumentation amplifier INA125, that conditions and amplifies the electric voltage signal generated by the sensor; and a digital bench voltmeter to display the device electrical voltage readings. We used an educational kit known as Helmholtz coil for measurement validation. Which consists of two circular parallel coils, each containing 200 turns and manufactured by Pasco Scientific®. Matlab® software was used for data process, indicating 2% relative error between the data acquired by the developed device, the educational kit and the theoretical model, according to bibliographic references.
