About the Journal
Focus and Scope
1. The Conjectura Journal’s scope is to encourage the academic debate and the research on Education and Philosophy in their various aspects, serving as an instrument to the dissemination of knowledge in these areas. For such, it seeks to qualify itself continuously, observing the criteria indicated by Qualis/CAPES: a minimum publication of 18 articles per issue, in which 60% of authors are bonded to at least four different institutions than the one that edits this Journal with the indication of institutional affiliation. In each issue published, at least one article will come from abroad.
2. The submission flow is continuous. In the section named “Articles”, Conjectura Journal publishes exclusively articles signed by a maximum of three authors, and it is required that at least one of them has a full Ph.D./Doctoral degree. With an exception for the latter, the criteria remain the same for the submission of reviews in their respective section (i. e. “Reviews”).
3. Conjectura Journal publishes original and unpublished articles in these languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, and German. The manuscripts submitted for publication must deal with ideas essentially related to the core problems of Philosophy and Education, including interdisciplinary issues that seek to clarify the relation between educational practice and philosophical problems. Unpublished documents, critical reviews, debates (points and counterpoints), translations, notes, and reports on events, and announcements from scientific journals in these fields of study may also be published.
4. Reviews should be taken from works/books published in the last three years, preferably on matters of Philosophy and Education.
5. In the case of texts for a reissue, it is required to be presented the complete reference of its first/original edition followed by the due acceptance of its first/original editors. In the case of texts for translations, it is required to be attached a copy of the original cover page.
6. Manuscripts submitted are appreciated by the Editorial Board as to its adequacy to the Journal’s editorial line/scope. Afterward, the articles and reviews are sent forward – anonymously – to reviewers whose graduated degree must be equal or higher than that of the author, except when the Editor invites a notorious and recognized thinker with knowledge to contribute with the essay. Reviewers always remain anonymous/confidential.
7. Once approved by the reviewers in these two stages, the article or the review will be published in the first issue of the Journal that has space available. Conjectura does not have as its exclusive publication criterion the chronological order in which it receives the submissions of manuscripts.
8. The Editorial Board does not commit itself to turn back the manuscripts sent by the authors.
9. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request revisions, modifications, or re-elaboration of the submitted article or review sent, without this being taken as a commitment to its publication.Peer Review Process
The Editorial Committee reserves the right not to publish articles of the same authorship in interstices less than one year. It will be rejected studies that were submitted simultaneously to other national or international journals, as well as those sent to compose book chapters.
The submission and evaluation process of submitted articles occurs through the Electronic Magazine Editing System (SEER). When submitted, the works are previously evaluated by the Editorial Team. Those that do not comply with the editorial norms or with the Journal scope will be automatically archived. The rest will be forwarded to the Associate Editors, who will designate at least a pair of ad hoc reviewers for evaluation. In case of divergent opinions, the article will be sent to a third referee. The identification of both authors and institutions should be removed from the text sent for evaluation. The approval or refusal of each article will depend on the availability and agility of the Editorial Board and the ad hoc reviewers.
Publication Frequency
After being approved, the items of the Journal will be published in the Ahead of Print system.
Open Access Policy
