A STUDY ON ASSESSMENT OF INNOVATION CAPABILITIES IN A FLEXIBLE PACKAGING COMPANY

The study had as a purpose the enhancement of innovation capacities in a flexible packaging company operating in the B2B – Business-to-Business market. For the analysis of the context of the innovation capabilities, access to data and information of the company was necessary, obtained from a qualitative research of an exploratory nature, operationalized by means individual in-depth interviews, with a semi-structured approach, with directors and managers linked to innovation in the company. Each of the innovation capabilities identified in the literature was assessed, and the following order of importance for business performance was established: capability for innovation in transaction, technological development, management and operations. Based on the study, development opportunities were identified for each innovation capability and proposed directions so that the company can boost its innovation capabilities and increase its competitiveness. The proposed directions include understanding innovation capabilities, improving productivity, investing in training, aligning information, e-commerce sales and disclosing the company’s strengths to the market.
