About the Journal
RBGI Focus and Scope
The RBGI - Revista Brasileira de Gestão e Inovação (Brazilian Journal of Management & Innovation) is edited under the responsibility of PPGA/UCS - Graduate Program in Administration at the University of Caxias do Sul, but is not specific or exclusive to PPGA/UCS. The Journal's mission is: to promote and foster scientific production in innovation management science, through the publication of qualified scientific works, rigorous and relevant, in line with the evolution of the field of study and the theoretical-practical relationship of management at national and international levels. They may be accepted in two categories: theoretical-empirical articles and theoretical essays. RBGI does not accept bibliometric studies and systematic reviews of literature - unless in very specific calls and with original and theoretical advancements.
The areas, in their direct relationship with Innovation and Sustainability, in several research environments, such as Territory level, Ecosystems level, Firms/Startups level, Process Level, Teams levels, in which articles can be sent are:
- Innovation, technology and innovation management;
- Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial management for Innovation;
- Science, technology and innovation;
- Knowledge-Based Development;
- Organizational theory for Innovation;
- People management for Innovation;
- Management of information and knowledge for Innovation;
- International management for Innovation;
- Logistics and operations for Innovation;
- Strategy for Innovation;
- Marketing for Innovation;
- Specific Sectors: Ex: Agribusiness, Healthcare, and Innovation;
- Social Innovation aspects and third sector;
The Brazilian Journal of Management and Innovation is aimed at academics and other professionals directly or indirectly associated with management and innovation. Therefore, it follows the guidelines of Good Practices for Scientific Publication of ANPAD. RBGI also follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)) guidelines.
RBGI Peer Review Process
The evaluation is carried out blindly by peers (double blind peer review), with an Editorial Board and an Advisory Board to assist in the publication's editorial policies. Preliminary, the articles are evaluated by an editor to verify the suitability of the article with the journal's editorial line. The evaluation is carried out by at least two reviewers: according to the reviews, the editor may request the evaluation of a third party.
The final acceptance of the articles will depend on the following criteria:
- Reviewers' recommendations;
- Development of necessary adjustments by the author(s);
- Publisher approval.

RBGI Copyright and Liability Policy
When submitting an article to the RGBI through the OJS system, authors automatically declare responsibility, agreement with the publication license and with the open access license, allowing the right to publish approved and published articles to be automatically transferred to the RGBI, allowing the publication of the article in this journal and also sharing it with the acknowledgment of its authorship, in accordance with the Creative Commons License CC-BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.pt_BR), which indicates the following:
this is an Open Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
The content of articles published in RBGI are the absolute and exclusive responsibility of their authors.
RBGI Free and Open Access Policy
The RBGI - Brazilian Journal of Management and Innovation offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater worldwide democratization of knowledge.
All of its content is available free of charge, at no cost to the user or institution.
Registered users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other legal purpose, without requesting prior permission from the editor or author, provided that they respect the license of use of the Creative Commons used by the journal. This definition of open access is in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
RBGI Archiving Policy
This journal uses the LOCKSS, CLOCKSS and PKN PN system to create a distributed filing system among participating libraries and allows them to create permanent journal archives for preservation and restoration.
