InnovationAbstract
This paper analyses the factors influencing product innovation adoption by OEMs and compares them in terms of relative importance and differences between a developed country (USA) and a developing country (Brazil). The comparative analysis led to the identification of the three most relevant factors as well as the three least relevant ones influencing product innovation adoption by OEMs in both countries.
This article's main contribution is to demonstrate the differences and relative importance of the factors influencing the product innovation adoption decision by OEMs of a specific country's automotive market. Another important contribution of this research, aside from the aforementioned factor analysis, was the investigation of the interconnection between these factors. Studies comparing factors influencing innovation adoption in organizations have been made in other fields of technology yet international comparison between these factors is still scarce.
