A STUDY ON ASSESSMENT OF INNOVATION CAPABILITIES IN A FLEXIBLE PACKAGING COMPANY

Objective: The purpose of this study was to enhance innovation capabilities in a flexible packaging company operating in the B2B – Business-to-Business market.
Design/Method/Approach: The research was qualitative and exploratory in nature, conducted through individual in-depth interviews with a semi-structured approach, involving directors and managers linked to innovation within the company. The data collected enabled the analysis of each innovation capability identified in the literature.
Originality/Relevance: The study contributes by providing a practical assessment of innovation capabilities in the B2B flexible packaging sector, emphasizing their importance for organizational performance and competitiveness.
Key Results/Findings: Innovation capabilities were ranked by their relevance to business performance: transaction innovation, technological development, management, and operations. Development opportunities were identified for each capability.
Theoretical and Practical Contributions: Strategic directions were proposed to strengthen the company’s innovation capabilities, including: understanding innovation capabilities, improving productivity, investing in training, aligning information, selling through e-commerce, and promoting the company’s strengths in the market.
