The design and implementation of innovation support policies has been gaining prominence in economic policy agendas around the world. In this regard, it can be stated that innovation ecosystems shape the economic dynamics of the complex relationships that are formed between actors or entities whose functional objective is to enable technological development and innovation. In the development of innovative activities, various innovation policy instruments, such as tax incentives and financial incentives, can act as accelerators. Advancing this discussion, this work had as its locus the State of Bahia and as its main objective to collect and discuss its results in the Brazil Innovation and Development Index (IBID), for the period 2014 to 2024, published by the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The report published by INPI in 2024 was analyzed in its indices, sub-indices and pillars, and also briefly discussed the Innovation Ecosystem and Regional Development.
