Abstract

The evolution of ICTs has enabled the development of intelligent techniques, processes, and operations. In tourism this is evident in the concept of Smart Tourist Destination (STD), which has technology as one of its foundations. Among the new technological resources applied to STD, Big Data stands out for analyzing data produced with great volume, variety, and speed. The research identified thirteen tools based on Big Data with potential use for STD management in Brazil. Based on this, a bibliographic review and document analysis of their dissemination materials characterized their channels for obtaining data, potential indicators generated and their conditions of access. As a main result it presents a systematization of data about them that helps managers of tourist destinations and Brazilian Tourism Observatories to better understand their characteristics as well as their suitability to the profile and needs of each destination.
