With greater use and access to new technologies, notably cloud computing, virtual and augmented reality, mobile technologies and the adoption of social media, the concept of intelligence became more explored, expanding from objects and gaining more scenarios. large cities, like cities and all that, through the integration of this communication and information technology with the physical infrastructure. Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI) are locations that use the base of smart cities to support mobility, accommodation, food and entertainment, aiming to provide a better experience to tourists. In this context, the main objective of this article is to systematically review Brazilian scientific publications, seeking to identify how the relationship between DTIs and the tourist experience has been studied. Within the chosen methodology, an adaptation of the model by Costa and Zoltowski (2014) was made and as a criterion for choosing the database, the list of national journals developed by the Graduate Program in Tourism at EACH-USP was considered. After selecting the articles, data was extracted using a Google spreadsheet to build the analysis corpus for further processing in the Iramuteq software. Based on the data obtained, the analysis of the results showed that although there is a clear evolution of research on DTI and the tourist experience, the destinations studied are still in the process of becoming a DTI, with favorable factors and elements in development to reach the level of intelligence of the destination. With the research findings, an analysis was made based on some dimensions, such as: Experience Dimension, Management and Development Dimension and Methodological Dimension, in order to understand how the studies of these themes are going.
