This study examines how academic articles in tourism journals address the safety of LGBTQIAPN+ tourists, a group encompassing diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. Through a systematic review of high-impact journals selected based on the Google Scholar h-index, we analyzed English, Portuguese, and Spanish publications to ensure broad coverage of this theme. Findings indicate that while LGBTQIAPN+ tourism literature frequently explores tourist profiles, behaviors, and marketing strategies, specific safety concerns are underrepresented, especially for less visible identity acronyms. The analysis highlights a significant gap in the literature, focusing on economic and behavioral aspects that overlook these tourists' holistic safety and well-being. This study concludes that more inclusive research is needed to comprehensively address safety issues, fostering practices that ensure the protection and welcoming of the entire LGBTQIAPN+ community within the tourism sector.
