Abstract

Based on the evaluation of accesses to the attractions in the “El Manguito” sector of Pico Bayamesa National Park, a methodology is proposed to determine the optimal hiking routes based on the analysis of the existing ones in the Management Plan 2017-2021. Considering quantitative and qualitative criteria related to environmental conditions, management, socio-cultural aspects and hiking trail users, a new tourist hiking route was proposed along with the fusion of three previously existing ones. The proposal was approved and will be incorporated into the Public Use Program in the new version of the Pico Bayamesa National Park Management Plan.
