Abstract

Tourism is an important economic activity for indigenous people; however, it is necessary to understand the magnitude and breadth of tourism involving indigenous peoples in Brazil. Thus, the present article has the objective of carrying out a survey of tourism practices in Indigenous lands in the country. The survey was carried out in databases, using ‘snowball’ technique, on official websites and supplemented with the researcher’s empirical knowledge. Thus, it was possible to mapping the practices, representing an important effort to understand the dimension of indigenous tourism in Brazil, with the potential to contribute to new research, public policies, and articulations of indigenous peoples.
